The CVD512a is a small inexpensive DVD player that is relatively easy to set up but has limited features. It does not have an optical out port and no built-in speakers, so sound and video come through RCA cables to the television. It has an audio jack so that it can be hooked up to a stereo; users who have used it for this purpose have reported success. There is also an RCA jack included in the package so it can be used on standard flat-screen TVs without needing any additional cables. The player can play mp3 CDs, but it is important to note that there is a learning curve when it comes to figuring out how to operate it properly. Unfortunately, the overall customer review of the product seems pretty poor.
