Laurell K Hamilton Horror Novels Editorial Review
Rafael #28 of the Anita Blake series takes us on another adventure in the supernatural world. The novel is less focused on sex scenes and has more world-building and political intrigue, which is a refreshing change. The plot is engaging and the protagonist's new depth as she learns to trust her powers adds to the story. However, some readers may be disappointed that the book doesn't follow previous storylines. Overall, it is a well-written addition to the Anita Blake series that fans are sure to enjoy.
