تفاصيل المنتج
- Scandal is a novel written by Willa Cather, an American author known for her literary works set in the American West. The novel is set in the early 20th century and follows the story of a young actress named Augusta Gus Tabor who becomes embroiled in a scandalous affair with a married man.Gus is a talented and ambitious actress who dreams of making it big in the entertainment industry. She is charming, beautiful, and confident, and she quickly catches the eye of a wealthy businessman named Harry Gordon. Despite the fact that Harry is already married, he becomes infatuated with Gus and begins a passionate affair with her.As their relationship becomes more intense, Gus finds herself torn between her love for Harry and her desire to maintain her reputation and career. She is forced to navigate the complex social and moral codes of the time, and she must decide whether to follow her heart or do what is expected of her.Scandal is a powerful and poignant exploration of love, desire, and the consequences of our actions. Through Gus's story, Cather offers a nuanced and insightful commentary on the social and cultural norms of early 20th-century America, and she challenges readers to consider the complex nature of human relationships and the choices we make in pursuit of our dreams.THIS 36 PAGE ARTICLE WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE BOOK: Youth and the Bright Medusa, by Willa Cather.
