MULTIREGION Blu-ray Players & Recorders Editorial Review
The Sony BDPS1700B MULTIREGION Blu-ray Player has garnered solid approval among its users, standing out as a reliable option for those seeking a region-free viewing experience. Customers appreciate its compact size, good build quality, and superior functionality, particularly for playing DVDs and Blu-rays across multiple regions (A, B, and C). Many users highlight the ease of switching regions thanks to a well-documented process which involves using the colored buttons on the remote control, enhancing the overall experience for avid movie collectors. One common point of praise is the player’s capability to seamlessly switch between regions without hassle, making it invaluable for viewers with collections from different parts of the world. The quality of both picture and sound has also been Consistently noted as satisfying and meets expectations for a device at this price point. However, while customers have found the HDMI Audio, Digital Audio, and RJ45 connections handy for their setups—allowing easy integration into existing home media systems—there is a noted absence of WiFi capability, which some users feel detracts from its overall value, as they would prefer a wireless option for firmware updates and app access. Despite this flaw, many still Consider the wired LAN solution sufficient, especially given the device's primary focus as a multi-region player. Additional feedback includes minor concerns regarding initial setup, particularly with understanding the HDMI settings. However, thorough instructions provided help mitigate these issues. Overall, this player emerges as a highly recommended choice for Consumers looking for dependable and versatile media playback. **
